International Women’s Day 2026 is celebrated by the Women Cell, Manabendra Sarma Girls’ College, Rangia with two days programme on 6th and 7th March 2026. On the first day, a quiz competition is held among the students of the College in presence of the faculty members, staff and students of the College. Prizes were awarded to the groups who won the first two positions. The programme on the second day was started by lighting of the lamp by respected Principal of the College Dr Sanjib Kr Barman in presence of the faculty members, staff and students of the College. In the auspicious occasion, the audience was delighted with citing of “Saraswati Bandana” by Sri Simran Sarma and a beautiful dance performed by Sri Dipanwita Das both students of the College. The occasion was graced by Dr Sangeeta Yadav MBBS, MS (O&G), Sparsh Hospital, Rangia as Special Invited Guest. In congruence with celebration of International Women’s Day, she delivered a thoughtful, educative and an interactive lecture to the students on the subject- “Menstrual Hygiene”. Respected Principal Dr Sanjib Kr Barman and faculty members Sri Rumi Kalita and Dr Dipanjali Devi deliberated on the importance and significance of International Women’s Day. From among the students Sri Banashri Kalita and Sri Sangita Das spoke on different aspect of International Women’s Day. In the programme prizes were distributed to the winning groups of Quiz competition and it was assisted by faculty and member of Women Cell Sri Manu Basumatary. Another highlight of the programme was enactment of a drama- “Bedanar Bishad” by a group of students of the College. The whole programme was coordinated by faculty member Dr Aparajita Sarma.
