The 80th Independence Day of India was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the premises of Manabendra Sarma Girls’ College, Rangia, on 15 August 2026. The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Principal of the College, Dr. Sanjib Kumar Barman. The flag-hoisting ceremony was followed by the singing of the National Song, “Vande Mataram,” and the National Anthem, “Jana Gana Mana.” After the flag-hoisting ceremony, a brief programme was organised in which the significance of Independence Day and the values of patriotism, courage and sacrifice were highlighted. Prasad was subsequently distributed among the present faculty members and students. The programme was conducted successfully with the active participation of the faculty members and students of the College. The celebration concluded on a positive and patriotic note.
